Bhimtal, a very small hill station to be found at a distance of 22kms from Nainital, has been given the name after one of the Pandav siblings called Bhim. The biggest lake in the region of Nainital , Bhim Tal is approximately 1710 meters by 275 meters, 255 meters larger than Naini Lake. The lake is well known for its wonderful and splendid magnificence is positioned at the height of 1371.6 meters over sea level. Bhim Tal has a small island, to the north eastern side, which is a beautiful gem in the center of the lake. It is placed inside the range of temple bells, which have been creating a beautiful sound for nearly the last 300 years in the 17th century structure, under the shade of the very tall mountain hastening steeply down to the bright green lake.
